Investigation of the Telfer type stratabound, vein-style gold and base metal potential of shallow alluvial sediment-covered areas near known historic mines in the Manna Hill region included work on several prospects contained within ground now being relinquished from EL 530. Following the conduct of a literature survey and orientation soil and rock chip geochemical sampling, extensive bedrock auger sampling was undertaken. Follow-up sampling of resultant low order gold and base metal anomalies failed to replicate the anomalism, and so did not define any suitable drilling targets. Comprehensive rock chip sampling of costeans excavated on the Waukaringa Goldfield line-of-lode produced a maximum gold assay of 0.48 ppm Au. The Boomerang gold mine was inspected and found to be non-prospective.
