In a search for possible buried stratiform base metal deposits of Mount Gunson type in an area surrounding Mount Eba Homestead, Carpentaria undertook a field reconnaissance of surface geological structures, followed by a study of aerial photographs and Landsat images leading to ground magnetic and gravity surveys over interpreted regional palaeogeomorphological highs. Three percussion holes, each to 400 m depth, were drilled to obtain stratigraphic and geochemical information, but all were abandoned in Adelaidean cover rocks without reaching basement or disclosing significant mineralisation.
