Following the identification of kimberlite indicator minerals in the Eurelia-Carrieton West area by reconnaissance stream sediment sampling, additional loam sampling and airborne and ground magnetic surveys were carried out. Bulk samples of stream gravels were processed, but no kimberlites were located. A soil geochemical survey and two rotary-percussion drillholes put down on a magnetic anomaly located near the Rhonda mine disclosed only minor quartz-magnetite vein mineralisation.
