A licence area spanning right across south-western Yorke Peninsula was taken up by BHP to test the theory that a NW-trending regional gravity low feature with an associated low magnetic signature might reflect a potentially coal-bearing Permian graben. However, ensuing research into the results of prior geophysical and drilling work provided sufficient information to discount the model, without a need to resort to additional drilling or to acquiring the proposed 30 line km gravity survey.
