In a search for Mississippi Valley - type Pb-Zn deposits within the Angepena Syncline, 35 km east of Copley, helicopter-assisted geological mapping at 1:25,000 scale, photogeological studies and reconnaissance stream sediment geochemical sampling were carried out. In conjunction with the latter activity, bulk gravel samples were obtained to test the heavy mineral fraction for possible kimberlite indicator minerals or diamond fragments. All of this work failed to detect prospective targets.
