The base metal and uranium potential of a concealed Proterozoic basement high near Bulgunnia Homestead was evaluated using geological and hydrogeochemical reconnaissance and regional geophysical interpretation approaches. Seismic, ground magnetic and gravity surveys were undertaken in selected areas. Middle Proterozoic rocks were intersected in 3 diamond drillholes totalling 1000 m, but these rocks were considered not to be indicative of an Olympic Dam type mineralising environment. 13 rotary holes (also aggregating 1000 m) were subsequently drilled into the overlying Palaeozoic - Mesozoic cover sequence, without disclosing significant coal.
