Following an inspection of this property by G. Cochrane in May 1952 drilling was commenced on the site recommended in the South-West corner of the property. Drilling Progress in the massive sandstones and quartzite's encountered was prohibitively slow (23' for the period 23 March 1953 to 2 April 1953) and operations were suspended pending selection of an alternative site. With this object in view a further inspection was carried out on 5 May 1953.
