The area covered by the Gawler 1 inch to 1 mile Military Sheet, (Scale 1/63,360), has been mapped by B.Campana during the years 1951-1952. Complementary field and laboratory work has been carried out in the metamorphic and granitic terrains by A.W. Whittle, in 1953, to study the petrological features involved. Aerial photographs on a scale of 20 chains to 1 inch have been used as a topographic base, on which geological data have been plotted in the field. The map has been prepared for publication by the Geological Drafting Section of the South Australian Department of Mines using the 1 inch to 1 mile Gawler Military Sheet as a base plan.
