This old mine was visited during routine investigations into the barite resources of the State. Later, representatives of S.N. Rodda and Co. (SA) Pty Ltd were shown the mine and became interested in developing it, subject to satisfactory assay of a sample taken in their presence. A plane-table survey of the mine was carried out in July, 1954 by the author. Section fences were used as datum points, additional data being taken from a sketch that had been published in Mining Review No. 30 (1919), p. 33.
