The present survey was carried out at the request of the Manager of the Building Stone Co. to determine the quantity of stone suitable for cutting with carborundum saws for the production of building stone. The present Company commenced operations at this quarry in 1951, when two 33" electrically operated carborundum saws were installed. Water for the cutting operations is supplied from a bore, situated on the adjoining property and carried down by two 1" pipelines. Operations were commenced on the lower face on which previous operators had worked on a small scale. This face is now partly covered by material dumped from the upper quarry. Operations in the upper quarry have been carried on for approximately 2 years by the present Company and some good quality stone has been removed from it.
