City Bricks Ltd. have requested a geological examination of a shale deposit on Section 961, Hundred of Adelaide, with a view to using the material for the manufacture of bricks at the Company's Works at Glen Osmond. The Company at present has a two months' option over the property which comprises part of Section 961. The area in which the Company are immediately interested forms part of a spur trending in a northerly direction and situated near the eastern boundary of the section. An inspection of the adjoining section 964 has been carried out by Dr. Miles, who recommended a geological survey of Sections 960, 961 and part of 964 to be carried out on behalf of City Bricks Ltd. He suggested that the Company should obtain an option of purchase over the land before a geological survey or drilling be undertaken by this Department.
