In recent years extensive agricultural developmental work has been carried out in parts of south-east South Australia under the A.M.P. Land Development Scheme and by private landholders. A large proportion of the activity has been centered in Hundreds Stirling and Willalooka and much new information has become available since the time of an earlier survey by D. King and a report by T.A. Barnes (D.M. 623/47) on this area. Since large tracts of country are still being developed, and drilling for underground water following on closely, these notes are in the nature of a progress report.
