The area radiometrically surveyed is situated in sections 153B of the Hundred of Wallaroo. A portable Halross Scintillometer (type 939) was used in this survey. No results were obtained from the radiometric survey which could be related to undisclosed uraniferous lodes owing to the high degree of surface radioactive contamination in the area except for two lines of anomolies marked "A" and "B" on the survey plan. These two anomalies may be due to uranium bearing lodes although they appear to have been due to transported fill material in pre-existing drains and need checking by the drilling of several shallow holes along their axes and testing for radioactivity with a geiger probe. It is suggested that the area around the highly radioactive dump discovered by A. A. W. Smith be tested at depth by drilling on a grid system. The results of this would decide whether further surface radiometric gridding or drilling is warranted in the area as a prospecting method.
