The Auster airborne scintillometer survey of the Crocker Well area was commenced on 29th August following preliminary flying in that area on July 22 and 23. (Preliminary report by B.P. Webb G.S. 132/CW 23). Due to an aircraft accident the survey was temporarily suspended on Saturday, 4th September, after approximately 15 hours of flying. A Fairchild aircraft was later secured to enable the survey to progress whilst awaiting the arrival of another Auster from England. Flying took place from 23 November to 14 December on 11 days for a total of 26 hours 35 minutes.
