The Auditor General requested urgent assistance for City Bricks Ltd in connection with a potential brick clay deposit near Crafers, over which the company had an option to purchase. Verbal permission to anticipate the authority to do this work was obtained by telephone from the Deputy Director of Mines, and the investigation was commenced on the same day that the request was received. The Manager of City Bricks Ltd was kept closely in touch with the progress of the investigation and all the results reported herein have been communicated to him verbally.
