In August, 1955, Mr Bruce Addis, Chief Engineer, Renmark Irrigation Trust, requested Departmental help in finding a new quarry site to provide material suitable for road metal and concrete aggregate. On 25th August, Mr, Addis called on the writer and discussed his needs. It was arranged to go to Renmark on 6th September and spend 7th and 8th in the area.
