Sludges from three bores sunk recently at Millicent were examined in an effort to determine the cause of failure of two of them. All bores are considered to be in Pleistocene sediments containing much reworked Gambier Limestone material increasing with depth. Two of the bores may have entered the Gambier Limestone, one at 100 feet and one at 200 feet depth.
