A survey with gravity meter and vertical force variometer has been carried out on two aeromagnetic anomalies to the west of the Katunga Hills. The area is covered with sand and alluvium and results obtained indicate the anomalies to be due to varying thickness and depth of burial of the haematite - quartzites of the southern Katunga Hills which are gently folded about N-S axes pitching towards the north. A programme of drilling has been recommended and early results support the conclusions arrived at from the geophysical work.
