During the months June-August, seismic reflection and refraction tests were made at selected sites on Lower Yorke Peninsula as part of the Government's oil search programme in this state and to ascertain whether any degree of correlation could be established between results calculated from a recent gravity survey and those obtained from seismic prospecting methods. No success was obtained using the reflection method but depths calculated from the refraction method approximate closely in some instances to known stratigraphic horizons. Possible errors to depths not already verified by bore hole information are discussed under the particular heading relating to that survey.
