Vertical magnetometer and gravity meter traverses have been run over anomalies disclosed by aeromagnetic surveys near Cowell on Eyre Peninsula. The presence of a very large quantity of magnetic rock, denser than the surrounding rocks and thus possible iron ore, has been inferred from the results. A preliminary testing programme of percussion drilling has been suggested. Depending on the results of this stage, further exploration by diamond drilling and more detailed gravity surveying has been recommended.
