During the period May 27th - June 21st, 1958, the writer visited Western Australia and by courtesy of the Geological Survey of Western Australia and the Commonwealth Bureau of Mineral Resources was guided to a number of the most important manganese and beryl deposits in that State. Two days were spent at the G.S.W.A. offices and then on May 30th the writer left with the joint survey - B.M.R. party for the Pilbara Goldfields. In company with L. de la Hunty, inspections were made to a number of mineral desposits and to points of geological interest in that region. Following the return to Perth inspections of the Ravensthorpe manganese deposits and pegmatites were made in company with J. Sofoulis. In all, over 4000 miles of travel by Landrover were accomplished. Sources of the data included in this report are due to the Government Geologist, geologists of the Geological Survey of W.A. and reports published by the Geological Survey, and from personal observations.
