The East Boolcunda Basin was examined in order to map the Triassic rocks in detail and to assess their coal-bearing potentiality. It was found that these rocks conform to a true basin structure, similar in most respects to the Leigh Creek and Springfield Basins, but that in the few relatively shallow boreholes sunk in the area, no economic deposits of coal were proved. It is recommended that a series of five 200 foot deep percussion drill holes be put down as illustrated in order to cover the deepest section of the basin.
