There are several granitic stocks along the southern coast of Fleurieu Peninsula, which are emplaced in the folded sediments of the Kanmantoo Group. These stocks are traversed by joints and dykes filled with aplites, pegmatites and quartz which indicates that some of these fractures are primary and are associated with the mechanism of granitic emplacement. Moreover, there are numerous xenoliths of country rock in the granites. The present work was started with a view to study these various structures in the granitic stocks and associated country rocks and to see whether they can be related to the mode of the granite emplacement.
