A review of drilling in the Lincoln and Uley-Wanilla basins has shown that low grade coaly or lignitic sediments of Tertiary age exist in depressions within the late Tertiary land surface. The coaly sediments encountered are of a low grade and beneath considerable overburden. It is considered doubtful that such material could be developed economically as a source of power for Port Lincoln.
