This report deals with the method that has been adopted in the Mineralogy and Petrology laboratories for the concentration and purification of accessory minerals from granitic rocks. Analytical procedures for the determination of lead and uranium in these minerals are summarized. Many problems have been encountered at all stages of the method, and these are discussed. The inaccuracy of the results to date shows that much work remains to be done before the method can be applied successfully.
