A dark blue-grey dolomite, correlated tentatively with the Beaumont Dolomite, is used by the District Council of Hallett as road-metal because it breaks down during quarrying operations and requires no crushing. Six new localities of the same dolomite formation have been found around three folds respectively west, north and north-east of Hallett.
