Ironstone on Section 201, Hd. Mannanarie, near Yongala, was drilled and found to be only 3m thick. Reserves are thus very low. Limestone drilled to 15m on the neighbouring Stone Reserve gave a very poor core recovery, a reflection on the porous, brecciated nature of the material. Neither deposit appears to be suitable as a source for road aggregate, but laboratory testing may prove the limestone to be satisfactory.
