Beneficiation tests on drill core samples from the two major zones of the deposit produced results similar to those obtained from earlier work on a surface sample. The grade of the samples was made lower than that previously investigated. Magnetic separation of sized fractions of the banded ironstone ore, ground after roasting in a reducing atmosphere, recovered approximately 90 per cent of the iron in a concentrate containing approximately 50 percent Fe. The tillitic ore with the same treatment gave 67 percent recovery at a concentrate grade of 40 percent Fe.
