Approximately 690 gallons of water containing 30 grains per gallon total sodium and potassium chlorides similar to the composition of the local water supply, would be required to produce a concentrate containing 0.1% or less total chlorides from the gypsum deposit at Streaky Bay. Treatment of the classifier-plant waste in cyclones would require thickening and repulping with an additional 530 gallons of water per ton of classifier concentrate produced. This would increase the recovery of gypsum by 15%.
