Samples of bitumen were collected by Mr C.W. Foster of Coulta along the coast at various places between Point Drummond and Mount Greenly a distance of approximately 12 miles. The main occurrence is in a small bay about 2.5 miles south south east of Point Drummond and adjacent to Section 60, Hundred of Kiana. Smaller quantities were observed on the coast west of Mount Greenly. Mr Foster reports that he has not observed any bitument further north in Hall Bay or south of the entrance to Coffin Bay. Several areas where bitumen occurs along the coast were examined on 31 October 1960. The occurrence of bitumen near Mount Greenly is reported in Bulletin 22.
