A topographical survey has been carried out to determine the probable extent of a siliceous limestone horizon beneath a mesa, namely Sugarloaf Hill, located 2 miles west of Lake Bonney near Kingston-on-Murray, which on its northern part is worked as a stone quarry by Messrs E.J. Jones and Sons of Berri. It was not within the scope of the preliminary study to calculate stone reserves, but tentative estimates based on a 10 foot uniform thickness indicate that 2 million cubic yards may be available beneath 5 million cubic yards of overburden. Recommendations for exploratory drilling have been made, to test the deposit more fully.
