In the Bald Hill area, one mile south of Angaston, 1½ million cubic yards of high grade marble (greater than 90% total carbonate) are available for quarrying above the 780 feet level. Reserves of high grade marble in the western area are estimated at ½ million cubic yards (above the 850 feet level). The marble persists in depth and underlies alluvium in the central valley area; the total recoverable reserves here will be dependant on quarry practice and have not been established.
