Palynological examination of samples from Lake Torrens Bore 3A indicates a high degree of organic oxidation much that pollens and spores are only preserved below about 600 feet. Microfloral assemblages obtained below this depth indicate an Eocene age for the sediments to the total depth of the well at 887 feet. The palaeoenvironment indicated by the assemblages is discussed briefly.
