A previously worked dolomitic shale deposit near Yongala was investigated with a view to extending the existing quarry. Geological and topographical surveys, and the completion of one diamond drill hole 58m deep, indicate that the quarry cannot be successfuklly extended. Alternative sources of aggregate should be sought.
