A foundation test bore 200 feet deep, drilled at the site of a new Australian Mutual Provident Society (AMP) building to be constructed on the south-western corner of North Terrace and King William Street, has intersected a Cainozoic sedimentary sequence of Upper Eocene to Recent geological age, providing a link between the subsurface sections recently exposed by other civil engineering works underway at Victoria Square and at the Morphett Street and Victoria Bridges.
