RB 60/00063 Geological reconnaissance of the coastal areas of southern Eyre Peninsula for molybdenite and scheelite.

Rocks in the Flinders and Hutchinson groups are exposed sporadically around the coast of Eyre Peninsula. Reported occurrences of molybdenite and scheelite in these rock types were investigated. No significant rare metal minerals were found in the course of the reconnaissance. A number of base metal mines along the eastern coast were also examined; none of these showed molybdenite or scheelite. The Miltalie lead-silver-copper mine appeared to have been insufficiently tested, and further work on this prospect is recommended.
