A site investigation has been carried out for Public Buildings Department for a two-story Primary School at Carlton, Port Augusta. 'l'ho proposed design is for a concrete building with load bearing walls seated upon driven piles (Frankpiles) bearing point loading of 30, 50 and 80 tons respectively. Two percussion hols were initially drilled at the site. Two more holes were drilled when foundation conditions proved variable across the building area.
