Bore 1 located on the premises of Coca Cola Bottlers Ltd at Walsh Street, Thebarton, near Port Road, was drilled to a total depth of 452 feet at a site about 600 yards west of the Para Fault. It penetrated a stratigraphic succession comprising in part 36 feet of Quaternary alluvial sediments and 88 feet of Upper Pliocene Hallett Cove Sandstone - Dry Creek Sands.
