Beds of the Stonyfell Quartzite formation have been strongly folded on this property. Two workable quartzite beds are interbedded with soft, friable sandstones and phyllitic slates. Overburden thickness in the south-western development area will increase as the face advances north. Owing to the steep dip of the beds in the northern development area, the same beds will be met as were quarried in the previous level. Diamond drill testing of this area is not recommended.
