Tertiary sandstones, grits and siltstones which are generally weakly consolidation have been in part lateritised to form strongly cemented ferruginous sandstone. Scout diamond drilling provided samples for testing without defining the extent of the deposit. Testing of the cores by the Highways and Local Government Department proved that it would provide base course material but it is unsuitable for Bituminous Surface Treatment screenings. The deposit does not warrant further investigation.
