East of Polda township, pumping trench pump-tests have been made on several 43 inch diameter boreholes. They were drilled in Polda Basin a portion of an extensive shallow non-pressure or drain aquifer. This aquifer covers a large part of County Musgrave. Polda Basin contains water of less than 1,000 ppm and is surrounded by waters of higher salinity. The individual boreholes are capable of yielding up to 1.5 cusecs. Because of the large cone of drawdown formed while pumping continuously, PT bores 4 and 7 should be pumped at a rate not higher than 1 cusec. Ground-water stored is sufficient for further development of town and country supplies.
