A quarry site at Devlin Pound has been explored by four diamond drill holes totalling 360 feet in depth. Drilling shows that hard limestone occurs in thin bands in the upper 75ft. of the sequence of shallow marine sediments. To recover this rock it would be necessary to remove more than five time its volume of unusable material.
