Six water bores from the Hundred of Yatala have been examined to outline their stratigraphic sequences. The average depth of the bores is 450 feet (TDs range from 270 feet to 605 feet). One bottomed in Pleistocene beds, two in Pliocene Dry Creek...

Six water bores from the Hundred of Yatala have been examined to outline their stratigraphic sequences. The average depth of the bores is 450 feet (TDs range from 270 feet to 605 feet). One bottomed in Pleistocene beds, two in Pliocene Dry Creek Sands, one in Miocene limestones above the aquiclude, one in the Miocene aquiclude, and one in Batesfordian limestones below it with Lepidocyclina. In addition, an examination of two drill core samples recovered from Beach Petroleum's Grange 1 oil exploration well confirmed that the Miocene aquiclude was penetrated.
