A drillhole 47ft. deep was used to investigate the site for a proposed 250,000 gallon elevated tank at Berri. Due to the loose unconsolidated nature of the dune sand material (up to 29ft.), piling to the Bungunnia Limestone may be desirable....

A drillhole 47ft. deep was used to investigate the site for a proposed 250,000 gallon elevated tank at Berri. Due to the loose unconsolidated nature of the dune sand material (up to 29ft.), piling to the Bungunnia Limestone may be desirable. Resistance to pile penetration would be greatest nearest the top of the formation, but would tend to decrease at greater depths. No water was penetrated in the hole and samples recovered were mainly very dry.
