A second progress report on the geological investigation of the site for a proposed second pumping station at Morgan. This work was requested because of changes in design layout of the new station, and to further evaluate some of the geological conditions discussed in the preliminary report. These investigations have included deepening of Diamond Hole 2 to 86ft., deepening of Diamond Hole 3 to 95ft., construction of Diamond Hole 4 to 87.5ft., re-examination of cliff face exposures and palaeontological study of selected drillhole cores. This report discusses the main geological features pertinent to the present design.
