The country rocks consist of Burra Group (Torrensian) formations which have been metamorphosed to dolomite, marble and quartz-mica-schist. The dolomite appears to be of poor quality, easily weathered and it is contaminated with pyrite which has been altered to iron oxides. It is concluded that the rock is unsuitable for aggregate, building stone or the preparation of superphosphate.
