A reconnaissance inspection of the Chowilla Reservoir area was carried out between 22nd and 24th August, 1966, to determine the geological conditions around the rim, particularly of the strata below top water level, and the possibility of leakage from the reservoir into these strata. Mapping carried out was mainly based on previous work by geologists of the Department.
