A site investigation has been carried out for the proposed redevelopment of Port Augusta Hospital. Exploration of the site has included examination of surface exposures and the construction of 5 drill holes totalling 250ft. Structures can be built...

A site investigation has been carried out for the proposed redevelopment of Port Augusta Hospital. Exploration of the site has included examination of surface exposures and the construction of 5 drill holes totalling 250ft. Structures can be built on the dune sand, provided the material does not become saturated. Foundation conditions are probably best near the surface of the dune and do not appear to show any significant improvement with depth, at least to 36 ft.
