The Walloway Basin is an elongate shallow sedimentary basin, approximately 40 miles in length, which extends from Mannanarie to Johnburg. It is situated approximately 160 miles north of Adelaide and centred about the township of Orroroo. Artesian water is known to occur throughout the central portion of the basin northwesterly of Orroroo and adjacent to the Pekina Irrigation area.
