The site of a proposed elevated water storage tank was investigated by means of one test hole. The hole was tube sampled utilising the hydraulic pull-down of a Mayhew rotary rig. Before commencing the push tube hole two rotary air blown holes were drilled adjacent in order to asses the geological sequence. The sequence consisted of aeolian sands of the Woorinen formation 7m thick over thin calcrete, in turn overlying Blanchetown Clay, in which the hole bottomed.
